About Alumina Castable 94% Al2O3, with Fibers P-CAST-A94F
Alumina Castable 94% Al2O3, with Fibers P-CAST-A94F is a conventional castable based on tabular alumina and special additives with 93 – 95% Al2O3, suitable for service temperatures up to 1800 °C. It has a hydraulic bond and is installed by casting with vibration. Material type according to the datasheet: Dense refractory concrete; raw material basis: tabular alumina and special additives.
Conventional castables contain more calcium aluminate cement. They are easy to install, but need more water and have a higher porosity after firing than low cement grades, so they are not intended for direct contact with molten metal. The fibers make it easier for water vapour to escape during drying and reduce the risk of spalling during initial heat-up.

Installation, packaging and storage
Installation: casting with vibration. Water addition, drying and initial heat-up should follow the manufacturer's instructions to achieve the best properties. Packaging: 25 kg bags (dry mix, water is added on site). Shelf life: 6 months (dry, cool, frost-free place).
